Today’s Celestial SpotLight features Meghan Humlie from earthenwareministry.com.
What is your profession?
Spiritual Director and Artist
Who are your ideal clients? Who do you heal or help?
I help clients in their 40’s to 70’s negotiate and grow their identity and presence of being both spiritual and creative in the midst of lives that are often too busy and lives that minimize the gifts that these clients bring. I am Christian but I listen and learn from clients who are of other traditions and those seekers who identify as “none” with regard to faith tradition.
How do you help people?
I listen as a coach and spiritual director. Individual or Group sessions are usually once a month for an hour. The focus is on building a relationship with the holy in any way that the directee may define that, and to witness them.
What is your typical day like?
My typical day involves my own spiritual and creative time, administrative work, and listening.
What makes your job so much fun?
My job is fun because people light up and grow in amazing way. Each person is so different but when they begin align with the holy, to realize their gifts and use them, I am certain that we all are better for it.
What is your favorite quote?
“The primary creative act is in the living of our daily lives, making of it a work of art.” from Christine Valters Paintner in her book the Artist’s Rule.
