Marketing copy is how you connect with your ideal client. It’s how you share your Gifts, encourage people to invest in your products and services, and build brand awareness.
Solopreneurs can’t usually hire a professional copywriter to help with their marketing copy, which is why it’s important you know how to write effective copy on your own.
Even if writing is not your forte’, figuring out how to write client attraction marketing copy is a must as Director of Marketing for your business.
In today’s marketing strategy, I will share you with my best marketing copy tip. It’s simple – something anyone can do (whether you think you can write or not). And it’s breathtakingly effective.
What I love about this marketing strategy is that it’s grounded in love and authenticity. And it works so well, you’ll feel more confident in every word you put out there.
Okay, enough prefacing – let’s do this!
I love to create graphics that enhance the learning in my weekly marketing strategies. Please feel free to share these on your social media!
I am a writer at heart. In fact, my first foray into marketing was as a writer. I am grateful that God has given me the ability to express myself through the written word.
And while it’s wonderful to have an innate writing ability, it doesn’t guarantee you’ll be an amazing and effective copywriter. Trust me: I’ve had to play around and experiment with what worked best for communicating to my ideal clients.
After years of writing and experimenting, here’s what I know for sure:
Writing marketing copy is an expression of love.
Let’s explore this a little more.
Write your marketing copy like it’s a love letter
Every time you sit down to write marketing copy, I don’t want you to think about marketing. I want you to think about writing a love letter.
When you do, the words will flow. You’ll be able to lay out exactly why you want your ideal client to do something, whether it’s to sign up for your program or subscribe to your email list.
Each word will be surrounded with love and authenticity – and your reader will love it. Chances are, she’ll do say “yes” to whatever your ask is.
For example, when I launched The Celestial Circle in 2018, I was stuck on what to write for my landing page. So, I got out my journal and began with this prompt: “Dear Future Celestial Circle Member.”
The words just flowed after that. I repurposed most of what I had drafted into the final web copy, and it worked beautifully to attract my ideal clients to The Celestial Circle.
Envision an actual person reading your copy
In addition to writing a love letter, I often write it to a specific person. Sometimes, it’s a combination of people, but usually, it’s just one person.
I think about what that person looks like (often looking at her photo on Facebook), what her dreams are, and how I can help her.
By having an actual person as my “muse,” it makes it easier to write the love letter.
If you’re stuck, think about a person who will benefit from what you’re writing. Look at her photo, study her Facebook page, have a conversation with her – and then write.
(And don’t worry that your marketing copy won’t resonate with other people. It will.)
In summary, my best marketing copy tip is this: Write a love letter to a person – not just any ideal client – but an actual person who needs to hear what you have to say.
It’s pure magic. It works every time, and you’ll love how it feels. I am sending you so much love – go shine your Light!

Hi, I’m Jill Celeste. I teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs (just like you) everything you need to know about marketing so you can become the Director of Marketing for your business.
Because when you put your Director of Marketing hat squarely on your head, marketing is your number one priority (which will result in more clients!).
When I am not teaching about marketing, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband or my teenage boys, or taking a nap with my basset hound, Emma. I also like to play with my two kittens and feed the backyard ducks (much to my neighbor’s chagrin).
If you’re feeling alone in your entrepreneurial journey, I invite you to check out my monthly membership group, The Celestial Circle. Affordable, loving, supportive, informative, and fun – that’s how we roll in The Celestial Circle. We would love to welcome you!
