Be Happy, Then Be A Success

Within a span of two weeks, my dog was diagnosed with cancer, my father died, I got very sick and I moved from one home to another.

It was a hellish two weeks – one that tested my mindset and challenged my happiness.

And to be honest, I felt miserable – physically, mentally and emotionally.

And guess what happened with my business? Not a damn thing. I promoted a program with meager results. And here’s why:

I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t in the Vortex. I wasn’t in a positive place.

And when I sit back and reflect on those two weeks, I am reminded of something I learned from a book I read a few years ago – The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor.

The idea of success coming before happiness is not the right formula. You can’t achieve success without first being happy in your life.

The Key To Success Is Happiness

The Key To Success Is HappinessI am in transition right now in my entrepreneurial career, and I thought my journey would be helpful to many of you.

Over the past month or so, I have been working on my thoughts, emotions and attitude. If you have met me in person, you know I am quick to smile, pretty easy to get along with and good for a laugh. However, like most of us, I am not happy all of the time.

Truthfully, being an entrepreneur can be a lonely job, especially when you are working hard to get your message out to the world.
