“The things you are passionate about are not random. They are your calling.”
– Fabienne Fredrickson
I believe we are here to serve a purpose, though sometimes this purpose is not obvious at first. Some people discover their purpose right away, while others take a longer journey. No matter how long it takes, you get signs along the way. The sooner you recognize those signs, the sooner you realize what your purpose is.
Those signs, I believe, are the seemingly random things that you are passionate about.
Throughout my childhood, I wanted to be a teacher. I played with my chalkboard for years. I loved looking at teacher’s manuals for textbooks. I worked with other students who were struggling in school. I chose an English education degree in college and tutored literacy to adults. Then life took a turn, and I entered the fields of public relations and marketing. But I never lost my love of teaching – often holding training classes at my corporate job.
It was not until Spring 2013 that I fully realized that teaching was my purpose – and my calling. And that’s when I decided to become a marketing coach – teaching entrepreneurs how to become the Directors of Marketing for their business.
What does this have to do with your business? Everything!
